The New Member Experience
What can you expect after bid day? We want to best help our new members find a way to get involved in everything Chi Omega.
Owl Pal Dates
In order to help our new members get to know more sisters in our chapter, we set them up on owl pal dates with older women and with other women in their same pledge class. This helps them form bonds early on as well as meeting older sisters who could potentially be their big sister.
Big & Little Sisters
At the start of their time in Chi Omega, every new member is paired with an older member to act as their mentor throughout their years in Chi Omega. By doing this, we want new members to always have a someone to go to no matter what is happening. Your Chi Omega family will last a lifetime and you will become more than sisters.
Education
Before initiation we want our new members to be knowledge about the founding and secrets of Chi Omega. Our new members go through 5 meetings called the New Member Experience to learn everything Chi Omega has to offer.
Initiation
Being a part of the initiation ceremony is an extremely special part of the new member process. The ceremony is the bridge from being a new member to becoming an active member. While we wish we could show you pictures from the actual ceremony, it is a very sacred and special part of our chapter that we like to keep a secret.
Cardinal Cabinet
New members have a special opportunity shortly after their initiation of being able to apply and participate in our Cardinal Cabinet. Cardinal Cabinet is our programming board that is in charge of planning events and all of the fun things we do! We love giving new members the opportunity to have a leadership role early on to prepare them for a future position on our executive board.
